From October 28th through November 1st, 2008, The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) held their Fall World Conference in Minneapolis, MN.  Approximately 500 SIORs and Associates from around the world attended the conference, including Andi Anderson, SIOR, Michael Bender, SIOR, Rob Fagnan and Douglas Brockhouse, SIOR from Bender Commercial.  The conference included multiple education sessions, economists' reports, the latests trends in commercial real estate and many other activities.

At this year's conference, Douglas Brockhouse, one of the principals of Bender Commercial was selected to serve as the 2009 Minnesota (and Dakotas) Chapter President.  Up to this time, the MidContinent Chapter consisted of 150 members from Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Montana and eastern Wyoming.  In 2009, the MidContinent Chapter will be split with Minnesota and the Dakotas as a separate Chapter that will be known as the Minnesota Chapter.  This chapter will have approximately 75 members.  The MidContinent Chapter will then be comprised of the states of Iowa, Nebraska, Montana and eastern Wyoming.  They too will have approximately 75 members.
